Diamond Care FAQ’sHow do I clean my diamond?
The jewellery cleaners you see at the malls are simply ammonia, detergent and water. The stores charge a lot of money for something you can make at home.
For keeping diamonds sparkling, I have always suggested Mr. Clean and an old tooth brush. Mr. Clean contains ammonia, detergent and water. Put the old tooth brush in Mr. Clean, give your diamond a good scrub, rinse it off, repeat if necessary, dry it off and wear it.
Diamonds love grease and oil, both attract dirt. Dirt will dull your diamond and using the tooth brush and Mr. Clean will bring back the gleam to your diamond.
Never use bleach or chlorine. These will break down your metals, make them brittle and prone to damage.
